Sikkim Philatelic and Numismatic Society

The 12th Foundation Day of the Sikkim Philatelic And Numismatic Society was celebrated in a grand manner at the Singtam Bihari Dharamshala. In the presence of, Speaker, Sikkim Legislative Assembly, Mr. K. N. Rai as the chief guest of the occasion, the major attraction of the event was its exhibition.

With an exquisite collection of postal stamps of various nations, currencies of various nations, ancient newspapers and other items, the event boasted of the inauguration of an old post box for display.

Singtam Nagar Panchayat President, Mr. Sawan Kumar Pradhan along with councillors were present at the occasion.

Also in the presence of RO, Forest Department, Mr. Manjil Kharel, MEO, Mr. Himmat Rai, Singtam Sr. Sec. School Principal, Mr. K. B. Chettri, Singtam PI, Mr. Ajay Rai, and representatives from NGOs, local public, etc., SLA Speaker, Mr. K. N. Rai, termed the exhibition to be of International level standards.
The program started with a welcome address by the Society President Mr. Ganesh Pradhan. Society Secretary Mr. Shital Pradhan presented a brief history of the society. On this occasion, Mr. Roshan Prasad and Mr. Vivek Yojan were present as the major speakers.

On this event a felicitation function was also organised in which Singtam Nagar Panchayat, Mr. Roshan Prasad, Binita Tamang, Dhiraj Tamang and Abhik Pal were felicitated. In the painting competition organised on the occasion, East Point Sr. Sec. School bagged 1st and 3rd prizes while Govt. Sr. Sec. School Singtam bagged the 2nd prize.
