Baishaki Utsav cum Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti

Ajay Thapa Pakyong:-14-04-2017.A local based NGO Matri Shakti Samiti, Pakyong in East Sikkim today celebrated Baishaki Utsav cum Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti here at Pakyong Bazaar Gram Prashasan Kendra conference Hall. Ex-Zilla Adakshya Mr. P.N. Kazi who was presented as the Chief Guest lighted the ceremonial lamp and offered khadas in the portrait of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Also present on the occasion were ex-Panchayat Mr. Tika Gurung, BB Subba, senior citizens and children of surroundings schools. 
The Chief Guest in his speech appreciated the organizing samiti for conducting such event annually in the area and encouraging and awaring youngsters about the tradition and culture of Sikkimese society. He urged all the members of the samiti to spread peace and unity in the society and works for the welfare of the whole society. He said we can make Pakyong a better place by contributing each and every individual socially and morally.
President of the Matri Shakti Samiti Mrs. Prem Theingh in her welcome address said that the Saimiti is conducting Baishaki Utsav cum Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti annually in the area to aware peoples about tradition and culture and also to honor Dr. B.R. Ambedkar for his contribution towards building the nation.
Member of the Samiti Mrs. Prem Lata Bhattrai briefed on Baishaki and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
 Dances were presented by the students of the surrounding schools.
 Members of the Samiti Mrs. Anjana Ghimire conducted the program and Mrs. Krishna Bhattrai proposed vote of thanks.
