Mrs. Nina Vaskunlathi, the Ambassador of Finland to India called on Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim Shri Shriniwas Patil today afternoon at Raj Bhavan. She was accompanied by her husband Dr. Andreas Herdina on the occasion.
It was a courtesy call by the Finnish Diplomat who is on three days official visit to Sikkim.
In a brief interaction, Governor enquired about the system of education in Finland, known as one of the best in the world, and sought suggestion and inputs for making changes in the set up of elementary education in Sikkim. He also urged the diplomat to facilitate more people to people contact between Sikkim and Finland.
The Ambassador provided a brief insight into the structure and system of education in Finland and opined that some ideas can be incorporated in the existing system of education in the State. She shared her impression of visiting Sikkim and hailed it as refreshing, clean and organic.
