Grand welcome to proud daughters of Sikkim Sushmita Rai and Phurba Pang Karma (Sherpa) at Rangpo by members of Rangpo Nagar Panchayat, members of AKRS, Badminton Association of Sikkim, SHO/Rangpo PS & well wishers who are returning back from Ashgabat Turkmenistan after winning Silver and Bronze medal in WAKO Asian Kickboxing Confederation, 2017.according to the news Susmita has won one silver and one bronze while Miss Phurba has won one silver medal in this international level competition. according to the news 45 members Indian Kickboxing Team of “National Kickboxing Federation (WAKO India)” in the “WAKO Asian Senior Kickboxing Championship 2017 held from 24th April to 30th April 2017 at Martial Arts Arena, Olympic Complex, Ashgabat Turkmenistan.
The Indian Kickboxing team performed successfully and got (Total 34 Medals) 1 GOLD Medal, 10 SILVER Medals & 23 BRONZE Medals for the country and team stood 7th in Overall Medal Tally in this ASIAN Championship. This event was the test event for “5th Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games – 2017” which will be held at Ashgabat Turkmenistan from 17th to 27th September 2017 under the patronage of the “Olympic Council of ASIA (OCA)”
