Sixty two science graduate students from Sikkim Govt. College, Tadong visited ICAR-NRC on Orchids, Pakyong on 26/04/17 to observe R&D activities. Faculty members Prof. Pradhan accompanied students and technical staff attended the exposure tour. The academic visit was aimed to educate and creating awareness on conservation and culture of orchids. On behalf the institute, Mr. P. Ravi Kishore, Senior Scientist (Economic Botany & PGR) presented a brief lecture on overview of institute and different on-going programmes at institute. Students also visited different polyhouses under orchid conservation, Cymbidium house, noble orchid propagation, Zygopetalum cultivation, Phalaenopsis cultivation and vertical farming. Faculty members and students expressed greater satisfaction over the visit and thanked Dr. Mrs. L. Alley, Principal, SGC, Tadong for making the arrangements.(PIB)
