Rangpo Organic Haat Inaugurated Today Along With A Meeting Organised To Discuss The Problems Faced By The Public Regarding The Issues

The Rangpo Nagar Panchayat today organized a meeting cum inauguration of the Rangpo Organic Haat. The meeting was aimed to discuss the issues which came up during the sudden inspection by the panchayat members of Central Pendam constituency last Sunday 

Being accused of collecting toll tax from organic farmers despite of it being exempted by the government and the open sale of inorganic produce were the major concerns which came up. And trying to tackle the issues, the RNP has decided to allot a separate area for the farmers selling organic produce which was brought into force today as the market was seen demarcated into two halves. 

The meeting saw the presence of representatives from all spheres including all the RNP members, panchayat members from surrounding GPUs, Enforcement Officer Horticulture, SHO Rangpo, PI Traffic Rangpo/Singtam, MEO Rangpo, FPO Officials, members of NGOs as well as the business community and the local public. Area MLA, Mr. Gopal Baraily was also present in the meeting. 

All the officials voiced their opinions and ideas regarding the issues before an open discussion session was organized wherein the public was allowed to put forward their views and grievances amidst all. The discussion seemed to be very productive as innovative ideas sprouted up on the ways to handle the problems and people's grievances were also duly heard and promised to offer them solution.

The Area MLA, Mr. Gopal Baraily, in his address spoke about the need of the hour being support from everyone and not only the police or the government. He also assured to provide the organic farmers better facilities to sell their produce under the scorching heat of Rangpo in a more hygienic place rather that on the grounds.

The concept of Rangpo Organic Haat has been put into force today and the success of this depends upon the stakeholders of the mission which include farmers, administration, public and all. Will this haat serve its purpose over the long run or will merely remain a few-week business, it a point to ponder over.
