The Ultimate Solo Marathon Man of Sikkim, Abhishek Prasad Gupta was welcomed in a grand manner at Rangpo when he stepped to his home soil back from New Delhi after completing the mission. The grand welcome program was organised under the banner of Sikkim Bihari Jagran Manch. The program was attended by SDM Rangpo, Mr. Mahesh Sharma as the Chief Guest followed by SHO Rangpo, Mr. Bikash Tiwari, SBJM, President, Mr. Swaminath Prasad and Press Club of Sikkim, President Mr. Joseph Lepcha as the Special Guest of the program.
The program was conducted by Ex- Councillor Mr. Bikash Prasad. Presenting Welcome Speech, Mr. Ajit Sharma, Gen. Secretary, SBJM, Rangpo stated that his marathon run to New Delhi started from Gangtok on 29th December 2017 and reached Delhi on 24th January 2018 which spanned across five states namely Sikkim, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. He reached Delhi on 24th January 2018 by covering 1545 kilometres on the run.
He was on this Mega Run promoting Sikkim Organic Mission, Awareness against Child Abuse and Swachh Bharat Mission. The members from SBJM, Rangpo and Singtam along with other branches, delegates from different organisations, local residents and youth were present at Rangpo Tourism to welcome the youth icon.
In the program Mr. Abhishek Prasad Gupta was felicitated by SBJM. In the program SBJM also felicitated the driver of the escort vehicle and doctor team who were with Abhishek upto Delhi . They also felicitated the media team for supporting round o clock by updating daily status.
