The Manav Utthan Seva Samiti, Rangpo in its Environmental Awareness and Research Centre,

Sanjay Agarwal Rangpo Sikkim -4th December 17 The Manav Utthan Seva Samiti, Rangpo in its Environmental Awareness and Research Centre, organized a public exhibition of 'Newspaper Clippings'. Mr. Sagar Mohra, the Press and Media Incharge for the North East, has collected these clippings which include newspapers from Siliguri like Himalaya Darpan, Swarnabhoomi, Sunakhari, Dainik Jagran as well as local newspapers like Sikkim Express, Prajashakti, Himali Bela, Samay Dainik, Summit TImes and many more. The exhibition was attended by Mr. Joseph Lepcha, President, and Press Club of Sikkim as the Chief Guest.


In the program, after the exhibition, Mr. Lepcha in his address termed the collection of such clippings to be a respectful offering to the fourth pillar of democracy. He spoke on the decrease in the spiritual insight in humans and emphasized such effort to be an inspiration for the young generation.
Rangpo Tehsil in-charge, Mahatma Purnabai, in her address expressed the importance of media in popularizing the activities of their Samiti. She expressed a hearties thanks to the Press Club for supporting in the publication of spiritual programs and ideas which has also encouraged the people to do the same. Rangpo Tehsil President, Mr. Surya Kumar Giri took this opportunity to thank the Press Club for their immense support.
Mr. Sagar, who has collected these clippings from 2007, said they contain the documentation for all the programs conducted by the Samiti in and around the hills. He has also expressed his wish for digitization of the clippings in the near future.
The exhibition was also graced by the presence of Mahatma Kritika Baiji, State Committee Advisor, Mr. Nagendra Sharma, North East Sikkim Division Secretary, Mr. Bharat Kumar Pradhan and Rangpo Branch Secretary, Mr. Ganga Cintury
