CM INNAGURATES THE TASHI CHOLING DHARMA CENTRE AT KHECHUPERI
Gyalshing, 4th December, 2017 :
On the 3rd day of the CM’s visit to the West District Shri. Pawan
Chamling inaugurated the Sidkeong Tuluk Bird Park at Rabdentse in the presence
of Shri. T. W. Lepcha, Minister, Forest. Later, the HCM inaugurated the Tashi
Choling Dharma Center, Khechuperi established by His Eminence Soktse Rinpoche, one of the
most revered Nyingmapa religious figure. The Dharma Center houses 1000 Guru Rinpoche
and 1000 Tara Statues dedicated for world peace.
A token of gratitude was presented
to the HCM for all his support to not only the monastery but for the
development and preservation of all religions in Sikkim. The token of gratitude
contained a citation and a memento to the HCM presented by His Eminence Soktse Rinpoche.
The entire ceremony took place in the presence of Khacheod Tulku Rinpoche of
Pemayangtse Monastery and Serdup Dungzin Rinpoche of Namchi Monastery; Yap.
Tempa Gyatso of Pemayangtse Monastery and senior Monks of the Old Khechuperi
Gumpa.
The opening of the Tashi Choling Dharma Centre
was also attended by Shri. N. K. Subba, Minister, UD&HD; Shri. Sonam Gyatso
Lepcha, Deputy Speaker; Shri. Pintso Chopel, Parliamentary Secretary; Shri. O.
T. Lepcha, Advisor, HRDD; Shri. K. S. Lepcha, MLA; Shri. Sonam Dadul Bhutia,
MLA; Shri. Kapil Meena, DC West; Smt. Devika Subba, Zilla Adhakshya (West); Shri.
D. N. Thakarpa; Smt. Kalawati Subba; Smt. R. Ongmu, Chief Administrator, Panchayats
and other officials.
