Training on preparation of Ready To Serve (RTS) JUICE

Geyzing, June 23: Working in tandem with the vision of the government to promote rural youths in the field of food processing and value addition, a training programme on preparation of Ready to Serve (RTS) Juice was organized by KVK West Sikkim on 22nd of June 2017 at its campus.
The programme had the participants of 40 numbers of farmers from Soreng, Rinchenpong and Sindrang villages. During the training programme farmers were highlighted about the various method of food processing and value addition of fruit crops. Later the participants were involved in preparation of Ready to Serve Juice of sweet orange, pomegranate and pine apple which were bottled and sealed using sealing machine. The RTS juices so prepared were later distributed among the participants. The sole purpose of organizing the programme was to generate interest and employment among the unemployed rural youths of the district.
