Protest Against GST: Businesses & Trade Suspended In Siliguri

To protest against the new bill of Goods and Services Tax, many merchants and business-owners took to the streets after they declared a ‘no trade’ day in the city.

Various organizations like the Siliguri Merchant Association, Hardware Merchants Association and North Bengal Motor Dealers Association called for a 12-hour strike to oppose the GST.

The streets of Siliguri appeared deserted due to the strike. The GST will be rolled into effect from midnight tonight.
